Midnight therapy

.$contents->author_name.

Sometimes I think of life like an onion.

Well ok not seriously but bear with me for a moment.

Imagine a person is an onion and each layer is an attribute pertaining to his or her life.  As you slowly peel back the layers to the onion you often begin to cry, and yet a sweet smell fills the air.  Sometimes though the air is simply sweet with the smell of raw onion just waiting to be pan-fried with some perogies or some other tasty morsels.

Now let's go back to people.  People are complicated.  No doubt an obvious truth.  But sometimes it is probably less obvious than what is initially imagine; since it is completely possible to act one dimensional.  Think valley girls or perhaps even simpler, a person continuously acts like a victim.  It's easiest to think of this as the outer layer of an onion.  But peel back a layer and suddenly one realizes the complexity  through the different senses.  Similar acts and personalities can have radically different motivations: think utilitarians vs. altruists.

I'm always amazed as I help peel back a person's many layers of motivations and rationalizations how bittersweet the feeling often is.  Good times shape a person, but quite often bad times are what seems to truly make someone.  Someone who doesn't want to have a relationship anymore because of a bad break up.  Someone who projects because he is jealous and angry.  Someone who is happy because it's a natural defensive mechanism.  Yet these people (of the United States) are all loved by someone (it's truly beautiful this love) and have lived utterly happy lives free of true suffering (well most of them anyway).  When all their motivations and rationalizations are stripped and their true ideals laid bare before them, these people can either choose to accept or reject this simple truth: they do not have to be ruled by their past, good or bad.

Ultimately I can only learn more from everyone I meet about the nature of human interaction.  The bitter taste of tears caused by peeling an onion may cover up its sweetness, but that makes it no less sweet after all.

Adventures in graduation land

.$contents->author_name.

So I decided it was a good idea to overload myself on credits this semester.  Not easy credits either.  Big projects and many of them.  One of them is helping Marc build this Digital city.  It's a hugely interesting concept, and if I could, I would devote a large segment of my time to it.

Unfortunately my time is at a minimum currently due to so many various other projects.  For example I have to write a paper (yes you heard me right; a paper!) for graduation.  I haven't written anything major in at least 2 years.  Summoning up this load again is tough.  So I will try my best to finish as quickly as possible.

Anyway back to the grind.

Welcome to the REAL NEO Citizen Dashboard social network

.$contents->author_name. This is an exciting time for all.

Not only is America pulling itself up by its bootstraps, but Cleveland is going to lead the pack with this dashboard project.

Stay tuned for news from Norm and Marc.
